Tips
Travel videos best practices
Carousel with edge-to-edge layout via inner spacing
Think ‘mobile-friendly’
Videos filmed in a portrait orientation (9:16) are perfect for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts. Additionally, keep in mind short attention spans. Hook viewers within the first 5 seconds.
Keep it short and sweet
We’ve seen that 30 seconds is the sweet spot for top content. If you have lots of content for one property, consider a montage of the best clips.
Be mindful of privacy
Avoid including identifiable people and minors to protect privacy and ensure your video meets our content guidelines.
It’s all in the details
Show off the property by spotlighting 2-3 key areas in one video. Capture the exterior, stunning views, and inviting interiors, plus amenities like pools, dining, and the special touches that stand out.
Authenticity is key
Your experience as a traveler is important! Share what you love about a property—your unique perspective is invaluable.
Less is more
Keep the your video presentation clean by skipping fonts, stickers, and emojis so your content can shine without unnecessary distractions.

Do not mention or show brands or properties not available on an Expedia Group brand.
Don't mention prices, promotional information, discount claims, or time-sensitive information.
Don't make any calls to action that cannot apply across all social media sites (e.g. “Link in bio!”).
Make sure your videos don't include text, graphics, watermarks, logos, or emojis.
Consider 1st and 3rd POV when capturing content. Refrain from including self and other identifiable people in the video. Refrain from crowds and selfies, but anonymous people are okay, like capturing individuals or crowds from behind.
